Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of Tie The Knot (tietheknot.uk). By creating an account or using the service you agree to them.

1. The Service

Tie The Knot provides hosted wedding websites and planning tools. You can create a personalised wedding page (choosing from five templates: Modern Fresh, Romantic Classic, Boho Chic, Classic, and Luxury), manage guest RSVPs, collect guest photos, organise your budget, plan seating, and more.

2. Price and Payment

You can create an account and plan for free. Going live for guests costs £249 as a one-time payment. This grants you lifetime access — there is no recurring subscription. Payments are processed securely by Stripe; we do not store your full card details.

3. Refund Policy

If we break it — live site down, RSVPs not arriving, payment taken and locks not lifted — we fix it first. If we cannot, we refund. That is a defect, not a cooling-off period.

4. Lifetime Access

“Lifetime access” means you can use the service for as long as we continue to operate it. We intend to run the service indefinitely, but if we ever discontinue it we will give you at least 90 days’ notice and the opportunity to export your data.

5. Your Account

You are responsible for keeping your login details secure. Let us know straight away if you suspect unauthorised access to your account.

6. Your Content

You own the content you upload (text, photos, guest information). By uploading it you grant us a licence to host, display, and back up that content so we can provide the service.

You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use the content you upload and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the service to:

• Upload or share illegal, abusive, defamatory, or obscene content.
• Harass, threaten, or harm others.
• Distribute malware or attempt to interfere with the service.
• Impersonate another person or misrepresent your affiliation.
• Use automated tools to scrape or overload the service.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.

8. Guest Contributions

Guests can RSVP and upload photos to your wedding page. You are responsible for moderating guest content on your page and can hide or remove inappropriate uploads.

9. Availability

We aim to keep the service available around the clock, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access. Occasionally we need to perform maintenance or may experience downtime outside our control.

10. Liability

We provide the service “as is”. To the extent permitted by law we exclude liability for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid for the service.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under English law.

11. Changes to the Service or Terms

We may update features, pricing (for new customers), or these terms over time. If we make significant changes we will notify you by email or through a notice on the site. Continued use after changes take effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Termination

You can close your account at any time by emailing us. We may terminate or suspend your account if you breach these terms. On termination we will delete your data within 30 days unless we need to retain it for legal reasons.

13. Governing Law

These terms are governed by English law. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
